The most obvious...
I have crafted hundreds of email automations, lead gen and sales campaigns in dozens of niches for just as many lists with millions of recipients – grossing over 150 million DKK.
Of course, the most relevant example is my current job at Trendhim.
Here, it's quite normal to send out 20-30 emails and create 1-2-3 segmented campaigns per month. And we have several hundred thousand subscribers in 33 countries look for our emails in their inboxes, read them and look forward to buying from our emails – that (by the way) are produced in 17 different languages and contain an even more varied mix of currencies.
I have technical insight into many different platforms and systems...
At Trendhim, we use Asana, Magento, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Content Stack, Smartling, Customer-io, ChatGPT, Amplitude, Nuclino and many more.
But more importantly, I can quickly get the hang of new apps, systems and workflows.
I also have extensive experience in picking the fruits of the low-hanging sale while cleverly and cunningly working behind the scenes to nurture and ripen the fruits hanging a bit higher.

I also have an obsession with copywriting and sales psychology.
My need for knowledge about everything relevant to an email marketer is so intense that I easily spend 10-20,000 DKK per year acquiring know-how from experts around the world.
And it's not just passive scrolling through theoretical stuff.
I only follow people who walk the talk – and I always implement something concrete from those learnings into campaigns and split tests, just ask Kenneth at Trendhim.

It’s funny because I am quite proud of a test project I did in December 2020 as part of another job application for a similar job at Heymedia in Aarhus.
CEO Mark Yuen told me:
»Your application really impressed us, and your test-project was in the top 2, maybe even top 1 of the ones we received«.
However, I accepted a position at Trendhim, which I do not regret because this has been (and is) a workplace where one can dive into the target audience and develop long-term strategies and workflows that gradually become more and more effectful.

PROJECTS
Below are some of the projects that I have completed since February 2021. Several of them with me as the prime mover - but of course, in close collaboration with the rest of CRM, Marketing and other teams in the house.
- Several large giveaways (lead gen campaigns) in 17 languages and 33 countries.
- Throughout 2021, we thus increased the number of readers on the list by around 100%
- Initiation of 9 strong, converting automation flows.
- Noticeable boost in revenue with emails.
- Marked improvement in the quality of both design and content.
- From 1-2 weeks to 7-30-60...
- In january 2023, I was tasked with making the production of broadcasts more sustainable and less stressful for the team...
We were only 1-2 weeks ahead when I started the project - sometimes less. We are now always:- 7 days ahead with scheduling

- 30 days ahead of starting production
- Currently, it is 50 days
- 60 days ahead with planning
- When I went on summer vacation on the 4th of July, we had just finished planning all the broadcasts for September.

- In january 2023, I was tasked with making the production of broadcasts more sustainable and less stressful for the team...
- Change from messy production flow in Google Docs, Photoshop, Google Drive, etc. to producing everything in FIGMA (incl. automated language versioning of text on images), where emails are written and designed in an almost 1:1 natural visual look.
- I am looking forward to showing more from Trendhim and elaborating on everything when we meet.

KØKKENFREAK
I helped build a strong storytelling concept and marketing strategy that lifted Køkkenfreak from "fighting for survival" to thriving, expanding and moving to a better location in the city center and living off their hobby instead of running in a hamster wheel.
METHOD:
- Infotaining videoer, der giver god interaction på SOME.
- Retarget Lead ads to THRUHPLAYS where we collect emails with a promise to get tips on maintaining kitchen equipment.
- and from there sell them products online and sell them on visiting the physical store.

CASE 03
YOGASHALA & TEACHER TRAINING
TANJA SOFIE
I helped my ex-wife (and I am still helping her) grow her 2 yoga businesses from a turnover of approx. DKK 350,000 in 2013 to around DKK 1.5 million in the last 12 months before the Corona lockdown in March 2020.
During Corona, she cut back on the business and costs – turnover is lower now – but with a significantly better contribution margin.
METODE:
- Two strong email automations and dozens of campaigns with a total of more than 365 emails to different lists and segments per year.
The best selling automation was simple and had no segmentation, zero ninja tricks. Just good craftsmanship and knowledge of the market.
Website and landing page have helped lift the sales task together with emails (no, it's not particularly yoga-like and not even particularly pretty - but we easily beat all competitors in DK in terms of sales):

CASE 04
THE HOUSE BUILDER
BOVIK/VILLAFLEX/ARKHOUSE
DIT BYGGEPROJEKT
The conversion rate (from catalog to sales meeting) lifted from 5% to +20% and the cost of marketing reduced by a similar factor – making this perhaps the most successful email marketing project I have ever been in charge of.
When I built my first house in 2004, I converted the construction company to a client of my freelance agency and they ended up buying more from my business than the price of the house.
Anyway, when the financial crisis hit in 2008, they had to reinvent their marketing, so I built my first email automation which was a resounding success. We replaced a physical catalog with an electronic one, which customers received in return for subscribing to the email list.
RESULT: The primary objective was to convert website visitors to construction meetings, and as I said, it succeeded quite nicely. The conversion rate from building meeting ⇢ sale remained the same and most houses had a budget of DKK 3-4 million, some more.
The conversion rate (from meeting to paying customer) stayed the same, and this remains one of the highest-grossing email marketing projects I have ever participated in, with dozens of houses sold at an average of around 3-4 million DKK).
TAKEAWAY: Customers' primary fear was being taken by the nose by smart salespeople, which we addressed in email number 2.

What I do to keep developing myself
- TEACHING VS. STUDYING
I learned early on from studying and teaching KARATE that teaching others will force you to develop your skills much faster and more efficiently than just studying.
EXAMPLE 1: In 1996 I started a division in MacPartner, educating our Mac customers in many different areas, such as Adobe's design applications—I ran this division until 2003 alongside doing all the marketing.
EXAMPLE 2: From 2015-2017 and 2019-2022 I have teached more than 150 small entrepreneurs paying me 599 DKK a month to be part of my email marketing tribe in which I also published (and wrote) a monthly printed 16-20 pages newsletter about... Email marketing, copywriting, automations and more.
EXAMPLE 3: In Trendhim I have facilitated monthly inspirational meetings in the CRM-team, where we deep dive into the teachings of a printed email marketing magazine that we pay for. These sessions have sparked many great selling ideas.
- WRITING VS. READING
I read every day, at least 30 minutes, but often more, prefereably non-fiction, since there are so many things I want to learn.
But even more important to me, is my daily writing routine – I write AT LEAST one email to my own list every day—typically 400-900 words. This is non-negotiable. I often write 2-3-4 (or more) emails to other lists as well.
I find writing to be even more developing than reading.
(And yet, I can't tell you how many copywriters I've met, who tells me they only write when they feel inspired.
- RECORDING VS. LISTENING
Every time I'm walking the dog or driving my car, I have some kind of audio program or book in my ears. Could be Seth Godin talking about marketing. Or Dan Kennedy about productivity and copywriting. Could be something else, but I make sure to do this for at least 30-60 minutes every day.
But again, as with teaching and writing, I find it even more developing to do my own audio recordings, so almost every day I record myself talking about some the same subjects—to my students or for myself.
- REPETITION VS NEW
One thing I've noticed, is that people like to buy hundres of books, courses and audios about marketing or whatever interests them—but they only go through a small fraction of it, and almost never more than once.
I prefer to read ONE good non-fiction book (or listen to it) 10 times instead of flying through 10 books.
For example... I am studying the Ukrainian language, and one of the ways I study is by listening to a Ukrainian Language podcast that currently has 200 past episodes. Yet, after 6 months of intense listening, I am still at episode 20.
Why?
Because I listen to each episode 10 times.
- EMPLOYEE VS. SELF EMPLOYED
I've learned many things from being self-employed, certainly stamina, and resilience to crises.
But for the great and many years ahead of me, I wish to be part of a team that I can inspire and be inspired by.
- PLAYING AND SINGING VS. LISTENING

Since I was a boy, I have been playing the guitar and singing. I loved many of the great American and English singers of my time, but even more so, I loved to »be them« myself – so I learned to play the guitar.
Besides from being the main driver in learning English faster than most of my friends in school, singing and playing the guitar has been a life long therapy for me.
